Understanding Oil Change
Updated: Oct 6
Everyone who drives a car will have to visit the garage for an oil change on a regular basis. However, not everyone changes their car engine oil regularly enough. The reason can be financial or simply a matter of habit. But it is imperative that engine oil be changed at the recommended intervals. Otherwise, the life of the engine will be shortened drastically. For those who religiously change their engine oil, there is very little chance for engine sludge to develop. Engine sludge is a major cause of total engine failure when circulation ports in the engine system are partially clogged or totally clogged. Thus, the simple habit of changing the engine oil at the factory-recommended intervals will, in effect, extend the engine life to well beyond 200,000 miles.
